Warrenton Dog Park Donation Center

Warrenton Trails Association (WTA) has officially recognized WarrentonDogPark as a Trails amenity and agreed to act as the financial agent for the project. Because Warrenton Trails Association is a 501(c)(3) your donation to the dog park will be considered a charitable donation and be deductible to the full extent of the law. 100% of your donation designated for the dog park goes to the park.

We are an all volunteer group working to develop an off-leash dog park in Warrenton.  The Warrenton Parks Advisory Board and the Warrenton City Commission have approved our plan and sighting at Carruthers Park.  We are getting bids for materials and seeking community support in the funding process.  We want to start construction this spring and have dogs romping by summer!

This will be a great community asset benefiting local citizens and visitors by providing a convenient location for people to socialize and exercise their canine companions in a secure environment. It has been shown that dog parks promote public health and safety, responsible pet ownership, and bring people together creating a greater sense of community.  Often many lasting friendships are formed between those who might otherwise never have met.  It provides a tool for realistic enforcement of city leash laws by offering an alternative for roaming and off-leash dogs within city limits, on the Warrenton Trails, and at Fort Stevens.  A well exercised dog is apt to be better behaved when walking on leash in these areas, thus enhancing the experience for everyone.

In addition to being on the Warrenton Trails route, some of the user friendly features of WarrentonDogPark will be: 

• A secure, enclosed, 2/3rds acre park with 5 foot chain link fencing;
• cemented, double gated entry;
• separate large & small dog areas;
• fresh drinking water; enclosed, cemented dog wash;
• pet waste stations; park benches; restrooms;
• shade trees with natural surroundings;
• easy access parking;
• wheelchair accessible;
• city garbage service;
• emergency vehicle and city mower access.

All contributions of $250 or more will be acknowledged by a letter from WTA for tax purposes and those contributors will be recognized as major supporters on a plaque at the dog park!
